To:  Carlyle Jr. High Band Members and Parents

On December 5, 2009 we will be having a bake shop for the Christmastown festivities at the Carlyle Fire House from 10 to 4.  We are asking that each high school band student bring 3 dozen cookies, choir bring either 3 dozen cookies or 2 batches of candy and junior high students - 2 batches of candy for this event ****Please do NOT make chocolate chip - this is already taken care of**** There is a really good website for ideas of what to make at www.northpole.com.  Easy recipes and good ideas.  Junior High students can bring their goods the Friday evening of the parade and High school band and chorus can bring in Friday morning.  Please let your teachers know what you are bringing.  Last year we had a great turnout and this year hopefully even better.

We will need help working.  Each teacher will have a sign up sheet in their room for designated shifts from 8-10 setup, 10-12, 12-2 and 2-4 cleanup.  We will need parents to help with these shifts also.  Please notify Mr. Kesterson or Mrs. Nelson if you are able to help with these shifts when your child tells them what they are making.  We would like to know by Monday, November 30 what your child will be bringing and if you are able to help - we are needing 4-5 adults per shift.  Thanks so much for your cooperation and help with all of these fundraisers.  If you have any questions, please contact Tammy Gerstenecker at 594-8876.

 Thanks Again,

 Tammy Gerstenecker

Have an old cell phone around the house? Did you just upgrade or change phone plans? Well if you answered yes to either of these questions you can help.......US! We have enrolled with Ecophones, which recycles used cell phones and in turn they reimbuse us for their collection. Just give your phone (not the charger) to a band member or drop it by the CJHS band office and in turn we will give you a receipt for your donation. A great way to help our band and save our enviroment!

Money earned goes to needed purchases for the CJHS Band.

Keep 'em coming & thank you!!!

Make sure those horns are in good working contition all of the time, especially now as we are entering the fall season
Have a supply of reeds, oil your valves, grease slides & corks, and most important:   PLAY IT to keep it in good working order!
Keeping your horn in great condition puts you in the driver's seat!
